25 Examples of Christmas Decor Madness

They say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and "to each their own". But seriously, "know when to say when".

Here are 25 examples of Christmas decorations taken too far. Click through the thumbnails below.

While we're on the subject of tacky Christmas decor, my wife and I are looking to show our kids some neighborhoods around Atlanta that have an abundance of lights. Suggestions?

Would you be embarrassed if one of these were a home in your neighborhood? Would you say something to them?

UPDATE: Here's one more for the list courtesy of @baharris. Love these neighbors!

These people have too much money on their hands. I think about not just the decorations, but the money it costs to power the decorations. Imagine their December power bill...

Don't even want to think about their power bill.

Gotta admit: the first photo (with all the blow up decor) looks like something my friends would have done in college.

I would not say anything to them. If they are crazy enough to let their houses look like that, imagine what they would do to your house when you're away.

LOL SeekingPastor. Probably right about that. Never trust anyone who's house looks like this ;-)

I think my biggest problem with it would be trying to SLEEP with all that lighting up the neighborhood!

The beauty of Xmas lights set against a dark night is lost when they become flood lights. That said, where I live, there are quite a few people who open their extravagant light displays to the public as a fundraiser for charity...and they are part of the Xmas fun for kids, so lets not be too "grinchy".

I think out of all of those pictures I only spotted a nativity scene tucked in behind a something else (Homer Simpson?).

where in the world do they put this stuff when they aren't using it? In some cases, it looks like the decorations are worth more than the houses they are decorating.

Yet another sign that people are not having enough children to keep them busy and have WAY too much free time on their hands.

Actually, I think this represents our desire and longing for "more" which is ultimately a desire for God. So in a quirky way, I love this aspect of Christmas.

As Capt. Kirk once said, too much of anything isn't necessarily a good thing.

Late to the game but this was a video I took of a neighbor's place last year. People travel for miles to see his display. He has music piped thru, sometimes gives tours and serves hot chocolate. Basically encourages people to stop and walk around. Sad I didn't get to video them yet this year.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6h1G-YFHy8

I think that second photo - the one with the Grinch... I think that house is a few blocks away from me. I could swear that's the same one. The Grinch is distinctive. If it isn't, it's disturbing to know there are TWO such houses in the universe.
